Documenting Tony Gonzalez’s Final NFL Game

Following up the success of 2012 season with a 4-12 record, the 2013 season was one of the most disappointing seasons I’ve experienced. However with the pending retirement of future Pro Football Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez, it offered one of the most memorable and privileged opportunities of my career with the team.

As the final game of the season was approaching we pitched the idea to do an exclusive behind the scenes photo essay of Gonzalez’s final game as an NFL player.

Jay Adams, Managing Editor, Atlanta Falcons.com put it best

On Dec. 29, 2013, a historic and prolific football career came to a close. Tony Gonzalez — the best tight end to ever play the game — took the field for one final time when the Falcons met the Panthers at the Georgia Dome that day. From the moment he set foot in the Georgia Dome gold parking deck to the time he walked out, with his illustrious football career behind him, AtlantaFalcons.com was there with unprecedented access.

The resulting post can be seen in its entirety on the Atlanta Falcons Exposure page. I am truly honored to be a part of “Gonzalez’s Final Ride” and will be a day that I look back on for many years to come.
